GETOB
South Aegean Tourism Hotel Owners and Managers Association
South Aegean Tourism Hotel Owners and Managers Association or GETOB was
founded in 1988 by President Murat Deliveli. Its main purpose is to collect
all the hotels in Marmaris under the same roof, and to contribute to regional
and national tourism. For this purpose, the association ensures cooperation
among the tourism facilities, and acts as a mediator between those facilities
and the relevant institutes and organizations.
We all know how comprehensive and important is the task of such an organization
focusing on creating unity among the tourism facilities in Marmaris, which
is an important location on a national scale. Defining its purpose as
helping those facilities in operating for longer terms and more profitably,
GETOB assumes an obligation to serve for promotion of the country as well.
Therefore, GETOB not only acts on behalf of the tourism facilities, but
also serves to promote the region. In doing so, it is quite natural to
make best use of all kinds of media and promotional means.
Among other tasks, the association also aims to organize seminars, conferences,
and informative activities in order to launch administrative and technical
training at the member facilities.
As a contribution to the national and regional tourism, the association
organizes activities with respect to marketing as well, and has an active
role in marketing of companies on a domestic and international scale.
GETOB carries out promotional activities in potential markets for Marmaris
and its surroundings. At this point, GETOB cooperates with the Ministry
of Tourism, and Unions of Travel Agencies and Hotel Managers, and assumes
an active role. The association also acts as a guide to ensure a constant
and rising momentum in the regional tourism activities by establishing
good relations with the foreign tour operators.
In order to reach those goals and create added value for the region, GETOB
has formed service committees among the members of the board. The committees
and their tasks are as follows:

Exhibitions and Promotional Activities: They work for an active promotion
of Marmaris and its neighboring regions in domestic and foreign markets.
This group determines the region to be promoted, and the points where
active participation is needed, and plans the type of promotions and activities.
They decide on where and how the products are to be displayed at exhibitions.

Press and Public Relations: With its task to promote the country and region,
and thus to achieve a constant and rising level of tourism activities
in our region, GETOB needs to benefit from all media channels. The following
board members have been assigned with a task to inform the public opinion
on regional and national basis through the media.

Membership and Relations: Getting its strength from the members and acting
for their benefit, GETOB needs to understand the problems of its members,
and to develop the necessary solutions. The following board members have
been delegated in order to inform the members about the activities of
the board, to ensure direct or indirect participation among the members,
to announce results of activities, and to find solutions to the members'
problems on local or national basis.
